Shangri-la Resort and Spa Hotel in Cebu is a beautiful escape from the mundane.  This is based on my extraordinary experience. If you were spending your summer in the Philippines, this luxury spot might just be what you were looking for after visiting some of the best Philippine beaches.

It was day two in the Cebu Food Crawl 2016.  We had a tour at Profoods Corp and a short stop at Cafe Jasmin for a Cafe White.  I had a milky caffeinated cup because I didn’t sleep the night before.  I probably should’ve gotten something else with less milk.

Revisting Movenpick Cebu Broke My Heart

Less than 3 years later, I revisit this famous man made private Philippine beach at Movenpick in Mactan, Cebu as I was one of the food crawlers for Cebu Food Crawl 2016, and I got my heart broken.

Upon Arrival
Just a few minutes from Mactan Alfresco, I knew we arrived when I saw the sail structures on the right side of the van I was in.

Movenpick is a paradise in Cebu that I had only knew about 3 years ago, thanks to my sister’s must-visit-places research skills.  

For the many yearly visits we had to Cebu since I was little, we'd only go to the Basilica del Sto Niño, the malls, relatives’ houses, the airport, then the pier.  Aside from those stops, nada.
